Established in 1936. Built upon knowledge and craftsmanship.
The Netherlands’ most modern injection moulding plant.
Kornelis Caps & Closures is one of the oldest plastic processing companies in the Netherlands and can now call itself one of the largest injection moulding companies in the field of plastic closures. Our products, made in Steenwijk, are largely distributed within the food industry - standardised and custom-made solutions alike.
Founder Jelte Kornelis was a pioneer in the production and trading of Bakelite. He is also co-founder of the Dutch Rubber and Plastics Industry. At the age of 70, he passed on the company to his son Wiebren, who like his father was active within the company throughout his life.
The Kornelis mission
Kornelis aspires to be a leader in the packaging industry through rational development, environmentally friendly production and fast delivery times of high-quality caps, closures and closing concepts for the European packaging market.
Our worldWe turn the world of caps and closures.
We believe in old-fashioned team spirit.
The people at Kornelis Caps & Closures stand for genuine craftsmanship. We have the expertise to make the difference and we do just that on a daily basis for our clients. The satisfaction of our employees, however, is at least as important to us. What we do, we do together.
We offer our employees a safe, pleasant and inspiring work environment. Within an open, social culture, there is plenty of room for personal development. Various departments make use of interns who are thoroughly supervised and can take a look behind the scenes from development to the production of closures. Each department is supported by a representative of the in-house emergency response team.
We combine craftsmanship with smart technology.
Product catalogue
At first glance, the role of a closure seems straightforward and not overly complex: the cap has a functional purpose. Safe, perfect and with optimum ease of use. It is a matter of craftsmanship and micrometres to meet these basic requirements. but there's more.
An impractical or faulty closure may be reason for a consumer to refrain from making a repeat purchase. A cap also offers a recognisable feature for the product. This is confirmed in our factory daily: visitors being shown around flawlessly list the products that belong to the caps rolling out of our machines.
ProductsRight on top of great things. Together.
We want to continue to grow in what we do and what we are capable of. We are committed to lifelong learning and ongoing innovation - along with old-fashioned teamwork, because that's what we believe in.
Temper evidence
For a growing number of products, a seal is indispensable: temper evidence offers the consumer certainty and reliability. A seal also provides products with an extended shelf life. Kornelis supplies caps and closures together with a wide range of seal types and sizes. Interested in the possibilities? Get in touch with us!
