Without exception, the desire and the ability to operate in a sustainable and socially responsible manner starts with us. Our people define our organisation. Without the right attitude, it would be impossible to take our responsibility and achieve progress in our efforts to make Kornelis a more sustainable organisation. Instead of spouting empty words and broken promises, we strive to bring about genuine and measurable change.

Having a positive impact is a core tenet of our services. Firstly, we do so by offering our clients top-quality products. Secondly, we have a positive impact on the environment by making our materials and production process more sustainable.

Development of our products
The development of our products, caps and closures, is our core task. The material and weight of our products are constantly being improved and sustainable alternatives and reusable materials are used whenever possible. For example; the production and recycling processes are simplified by using only one type of plastic instead of two. We also use lightweight caps that are produced with the bare minimum of plastic and energy. In other words, we keep processability in mind at every stage of the process. After all, when it comes to recycling, every ending is a new beginning.

Sustainable production
We use as little power as possible in our production facilities. We use solar panels to generate the electricity that powers our machinery and the LED lighting found throughout the factory. The cooling system used in our injection-moulding process is entirely free of chemicals and the oil-cooling system is fully closed. In the years to come, Kornelis will strive to minimise its ecological footprint as quickly as possible.
For more than eighty years, we have been manufacturing our products in an environment that meets strict production and quality standards. In addition to being FSSC22000, ISO 9001:2015 and ISCC-PLUS certified. We also take part in the ISO26000 project.
The point on the horizon (the goal) is important. The road that leads there even more so.

Our goal is to make reuse a key aspect of the design and production processes of our caps and closures.
