Kornelis Caps & Closures works on sustainability strategy with EcoVadis certification

Kornelis Caps & Closures is taking significant steps towards sustainability. Making a positive impact is central to our services. We achieve this by delivering high-quality products and by making our materials and production processes more sustainable. Kornelis Caps & Closures now aims to clarify these steps with the EcoVadis sustainability certification as part of its new strategy for the coming years.

EcoVadis Sustainability Certification

In recent years, Kornelis Caps & Closures has made considerable progress in sustainability. We have obtained several sustainability certifications, acquired a stacking machine, and work with energy-efficient machines and an efficient water system. Thanks to new products and innovation, Kornelis continues to develop sustainably. But how do we bring all these aspects together in our corporate and management systems? We do this by achieving a new sustainability certification: EcoVadis.

What is EcoVadis?

EcoVadis provides insight into how well companies integrate sustainability principles into their business and management systems. The methodology consists of 21 criteria across four themes: environment, labor and human rights, ethic and sustainable procurement. EcoVadis is based on international sustainability standards such as the Global Reporting Initiative, the United Nations Global Compact, and ISO 26000.

Rainbow Collection

To obtain the EcoVadis certification, Kornelis Caps & Closures sought the assistance of impact agency Rainbow Collection. 'Together with Rainbow Collection, we are looking at the areas where Kornelis can make the greatest impact. What are we doing well, and where can we improve? Rainbow Collection will develop a clear strategy based on this, so we can achieve our sustainability goals in our new roadmap,' says Gerben de Boer, Managing Director of Kornelis Caps & Closures.
