Kornelis celebrates 90 years and gives back: donation presented to Groot Verzet Tegen Kanker

What began as an anniversary celebration took on an even more meaningful dimension. During the festivities marking its 90th anniversary, Kornelis Caps & Closures presented a cheque for €15,000 to the Groot Verzet Tegen Kanker Foundation.

Numerous donations

In the presence of current and former employees, customers, suppliers, and partners, a special milestone was celebrated. The occasion provided an opportunity not only to reflect on a rich history, but also to look ahead with a strong focus on creating a positive social impact. The donation was made possible through the generous contributions of guests and will be used in full to support research and provide assistance to people affected by cancer.

More than entrepreneurship

“As a family-owned business, we want to do more than just business,” said Gerben de Boer, Managing Director of Kornelis. “We feel a responsibility to give back, and we hope this donation will make a meaningful difference to people who need it most.”

Appreciation

Speaking on behalf of the Groot Verzet tegen Kanker Foundation, Frenkel Mazenier expressed his appreciation for the support and commitment shown. The donation will help the foundation continue its work in funding research, promoting prevention, and providing support to cancer patients and their families.

90 Years of Kornelis

The anniversary event, held on Thursday, 21 May 2026, was a celebration of pride, connection, and 90 years of entrepreneurship. It honoured the people who have made Kornelis what it is today. Based in Steenwijk, the Netherlands, Kornelis Caps & Closures develops and manufactures caps and closures for the food industry.
